Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer in 1

I always want to get my paws on new foundation launches. There’s something about discovering a new foundation which really excites me! Today, I’m sharing my thoughts on the new Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer – quite a mouthful, but it is fact a foundation and concealer formulation, all in one beautifully packaged bottle. This is the first foundation by Clinique I have owned and have been test driving him for the past couple of weeks.

It’s comes in a whopping 21 shades, with neutral and warm undertones. I’ve got to say, it’s probably one of the most lightweight foundations that has ever touched my face(!) with such great coverage, but we’ll get onto the foundation formula in a bit. It’s a game changer when it comes to the days I don’t feel like wearing layers of foundation or concealer, but still want the coverage.

Firstly, lets talk packaging, because we all know I love me some packaging! The glass bottle comes with a doe foot applicator (similar to a lip gloss) which I personally love. This nifty little applicator is actually the perfect size to dot product onto your face for medium coverage or using swipes of the foundation for a heavier coverage. The doe foot can also be used to pinpoint higher coverage in problematic areas (like the ol’ bags, if you know what I mean). Easy peasy. There’s no pumping, applying product onto the back of your hand, nothing – talk about a fuss free foundation, right? All-in-all you get more bang for your buck with this guy. No product wastage going on, which means a longer lasting foundation.

Onto the formulation, look and feel of this 2 in 1. Coverage wise, it is medium to full coverage. For someone, like me, who loves medium coverage on a day to day basis and full coverage for nights out and parties, this is my one stop foundation. You get this almost skin-like, matte finish to the skin that lasts hours on end. For me, I seem to get away with having this on for at least a full working day or night, without touch ups. Having combination skin, with a T-zone that can tend to get oily, the formula of this foundation helps my skin stay natural yet mattified. This is all down to the ‘dual-sphere particles’ which are packed into the foundation. These magic balls absorb oil in areas that you need it and add hydration onto dry patches/areas – so you really do get best of both worlds. It may just be the most perfect foundation for combination skin types.

For the times when you’re in a rush, having a good skin day or wanting a ‘my skin but better‘ look, this foundation is definitely worth trying out. This guy can save you time, save you money, can give you coverage when/where you need it and on top of all of that it leaves your skin looking and feeling like your skin! What more could you ask for, right?

I’ve taken a look on Clinique’s site and I am worried they just don’t offer light enough shades, they seem to start in the middle range. I am very pale yellow base, but I’ll go to the counter to try their lightest neutral, see how it blends in.

  • Been looking for reviews on this as looking at buying it. I have very oily skin so unsure. Great review!

too yellow for my pale skin and no good for my black friends, why don’t they do foundation for black people x

  • Anastasia

Can you please tell, what is number of the color you use??

  • This is the problem I always find with concealers, they have that flat matte look which makes you less dewy and more cakey and pale. More suited to oily skin I’d say.

I’ve tried this, it’s crazy coverage. There isn’t a good color for me. Didn’t like the applicator, can’t get around the sides. http://r1coetbello.blogspot.co.uk
