MAC | Stereo Rose MSF ♥

By | January 18, 2013

Happy Friday my lovelies! I was about to say afternoon or something of that nature but realised it’s a totally different time in the UK – I really should stop saying that! Keeping in the theme of what I purchased at Duty Free this past week I couldn’t wait to show you all one of MAC’s most wanted products. It’s none other than the most beautiful Stereo Rose Mineralize Skinfinish (MSF).

MAC Stereo Rose Review Swatches FOTD Makeup Look 02Stereo Rose Mineralize Skinfinish £21.50 available from MAC HERE.

It’s most famous from a MAC summer collection in 2010 however MAC brought it back this year for those of us who were unable to snag it last time round. I always thought of this MSF as a bit of an overhyped product, usually because I could never swatch it or try it on (but boy was I wrong about that!). I tried it at my cousin’s house last week and did really, REALLY like it but wasn’t too sure if I wanted that bad? But as soon as I found out that the Duty Free MAC had it in stock I suddenly needed it in my life!  At first I didn’t even want to use to because it was that pretty…

How pretty is it in the packaging?! It’s got subtle tones of bronze and gold but don’t show up drastically on the skin. I thought rather than going on and on about the product in a paragraph, I’d put it straight onto the picture. It’s straight to the point and visual – I love that (but do let me know if you prefer reading about it in chunks of text ;)).

It’s such a lovely pinky-coraly-blush colour that gives you a healthy glow when wearing it on your cheeks. It’s something that I thought would be best for summer and spring but I’m loving it during the dreaded winter months too!

I get such a strange feeling when I see and wear it though… I feel like I’ve seen this colour before in my makeup collection. So, as soon as I get home I’m going to have a swatch-a-thon to see if I have something similar and if I do, expect a blog post on it :)

Were you lucky enough to get your hands on Stereo Rose this year? What do you think of it? Over-hyped or simply beautiful?

Ah! the legendary Stereo Rose! It’s beautiful everytime I see it. I haven’t had the chance to purchase it in this past but this time around I will make sure to get it before they are all sold out. They HAVE to still have some at the department stores.

I managed to pick one of these up this time around…i absolutely love it xXx I think when a product is limited it makes you want it even more – sometimes I feel sorry for my wallet lol ;)

I hope it looks as good on me as it does on you….

    • Kaushal

I hope you love it as much as I do – it’s beautiful! I totally know what you mean about limited edition products (bad times for our wallets indeed) x

  • http://anishaxoxox.blogspot.co.uk/ Anisha

I wasn’t too sure about the colour in the swatch but it looks gorgeous on you! Your make up always looks flawless, do you have any tips?

    Anisha xoxo

    • Kaushal

HI Anisha! Thanks so much :) I think the best tip I could give is to find a foundation that suits your skin. For example, if you have oily skin, it’s best not to go for a oily foundation etc… I hope that helps hun? x

  • Danielle

Your soo beautiful and your make up always looks perfect! I noticed you use the studio fix powder and the MSF natural powder, I use the MSF but was thinking of swapping to the studio fix! In your opinion what one is best? X

    • Kaushal

Thanks so much for commenting, Danielle. In terms of powder I use the MUFE HD Powder and MSF Medium Plus – If I want that extra bit of coverage I’ll use my MSF (or even my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder) but if I want something light but set I’ll use my MUFE HD Powder :) They’re all just as good but it all depends on what you’re after, finish wise. I hope that makes sense? If not, totally let me know x

      • Danielle

Thank you soo much for responding :)! Yes it sure does, i will definetly be trying out the MUFE HD powder! Thank you for your help :)! Absolutley love your blog! X

        • Kaushal

No problem hun :) The e.l.f HD powder is good too if you don’t want to splurge. Thanks so much, Danielle x

  • Kuki

    :D :D :D :D :D

    LOVE you! this looks amazing!!!

And after you left, I decided to give Stereo Rose another chance, and you’re right, it’s amazing. But the original came out in 2005, then again in 2010 and now again. So I’m 100% sure they will re-release it. I had the original from 2005 and that one was a bit different to the current one but never the less still great.

I bet the Smashbox liner brings out the green bits in your eyes! :-)

I’m in love with you! xxx

    • Kuki

One more thing, I ended up getting the Bobbi Brown liner in Shimmering Ivy and I got the lustre drops and topshop glow. You Miss Koo, are a bad influence on me! haha xx

      • Kaushal

YAY, how is the liner? I want that colour too. What did you think of the Lustre Drops? Also, I’ve been using Topshop Skin Glow a heck of a lot recently – I love it! Hehehe, we’re a bad influence on each other, Koo!! x

    • Kaushal

YAY – I’m so glad you tried it! It was only after I bought it & gave it a go, I ended up loving it :) They just need to make it permanent already! Yessss, I love the Smashbox eyeliner & the NARS tinted moisturiser. The translucent powder is too beautiful to use though  I had a dream about Millie & Cyrus (I forgot to tell you LOL). Let’s meet up soon, when I’m back x
