The Body Shop BB Cream.

A few weeks ago I was sent the new Body Shop BB cream. I was so excited to give it a try as I do love my Garnier BB cream (I used it almost everyday last summer) – I’m a big fan of lightweight foundations/tinted moisturisers/BB creams if you hadn’t guessed already! What is a BB cream you may ask? Well, a BB cream stands for ‘Blemish Balm’ or ‘Beauty Balm’. It was & has been super popular in Asia. It’s a mixture of a primer, SPF, moisturiser, foundation & all round conditioning treatment for your skin all rolled into one product… No wonder why everyone is jumping on the BB bandwagon! Here’s the NEW all-in-one BB Cream by The Body Shop.

RRP: £12 available from HERE. The BB cream claims:

Evens skin tone

24 hour hydration

Smooth finish

Non-clogging formula

The look of TBS BB cream is far different to others out there – at first I was really surprised by the moisturiser-like look of it. This is because it has pigment filled capsules that burst when applied to skin which release the colour inside. Below is what it looks like before, during & after application…

I am shade 2 with this BB cream. It’s extremely light weight & feels similar to a moisturiser. Overall, it does give you a subtle glow & evens the skin tone, but not in areas where I have blemishes &/or scars. I wish it had SPF & was a little bit thicker/heavier in coverage but don’t think this will be taking centre stage of my makeup routine. However, it is definitely something I’d consider for when I go on holiday, this is because I don’t like wearing heavy foundations in the heat.

Overall, I think this BB cream is perfect for those who have good skin & don’t need to cover up any blemishes, scars or pigmentation. If you’re after some sort of coverage I would steer clear from this product. Would I purchase this product for another tube? Probably not, however if I was going on holiday this would be in my beach bag for sure! I LOVE TBS ethos & am a fan of a lot of their products (including their Honey Bronze Shimmering Dry body oil which is also a must have of mine when I go on holiday).

What do you think, dolls? Is this BB cream something you’ll be picking up?

Boss Nuit pour Femme LOVE.

Every since recieving Hugo Boss’ Pure Purple perfume a fair few years ago, I’ve always has a soft spot for them. I loved how Pure Purple reminded me of Vimto & I love Vimto! I find their perfumes for women really lovely. They’re nice & rich yet sweet & last me pretty much the whole day! As you can probably tell from the video above, they are launching NUIT POUR FEMME! I was so excited when I got sent the bottle, I couldn’t wait to have a whiff of it! It’s such a lovely sweet & fruity yet musky scent. Pretty much an all round scent which gets a big fat tick for my liking. It actually reminds me of a perfume my mum used to wear when I was younger…

Nuit Pour Femme by Hugo Boss RRP: £59

The bottle is beautiful (maybe it’s because I absolutely love black & gold!) – it’s very similar to the Pure Purple but without the ‘twist’ in it. There’s something about a black bottle which makes it look very elegant yet mysterious. It fits in perfectly in my black & gold themed vanity area also :) The Nuit products range from £20-£59 which means there’s something to almost everyone’s budget.

Ever since being in Glee (yes, I’m a Gleek!), I absolutely love Gwyneth Paltrow! She’s the face of this perfume as you can tell from the picture above. I think by using Gwynnie it not only appeals to the younger market but also the older market. My mum has had a sniff of it & I think she may take it off of me because the loved it that much LOL. Her dress will also be available to purchase from Hugo Boss stores – you can never have too many LBDs ;) I quite like that they tied in a fashion element to the fragrance, other brands shout take note (provided that the clothes are affordable!).

This fragrance will be available this week. Are you a fan of Hugo Boss perfumes? Will you be getting your hands on this?

Caviar Manicure

Happy Sunday my lovelies! If you follow me on Instagram then you’ll know I just posted a picture of a Ciaté Caviar Manicure I did – I couldn’t wait at all & had to blog about it! I got given this as a birthday gift last week (big thank you to ‘Ruchit’) & couldn’t wait much longer to try it out. I had seen these around but never really thought to pick one up but am so glad I’ve got this kit!

Ciaté Caviar Manicure £18 available from HERE.

They come with everything you need to create the look. The polish, the caviar pearls, a tray & funnel to ensure you don’t waste any of the pearls. The caviar pearls are so incredibly stunning & so, so tiny! I didn’t realise how small they are until I actually put them onto my nails.

It’s super easy to apply as well. You need to apply 2 coats of nail polish onto your nails, then apply the caviar pearls onto whichever nail you want. I only did it to one finger on each hand, as I think having these on all of your nails is a bit OTT. However, I think it looks BEAUTIFUL as a ring-finger manicure :)

I love how it can spruce up your manicure so easily. I know there are a lot of alternative ways to recreate this look but I think it makes a great gift! I really like to look of the Ciaté nail polish bottles – I also found the nail polish to be a little ‘sticky’ ? I’m hoping this just wasn’t me & it was something added into the polish to make the pearls stay on for longer? Either way, I’m super happy I got to try this out! I wish they did a SPARKLY GOLD, I mean how amazing would that look?!

Have you tried these Caviar Manicure kits by Ciaté? What do you think? Do you love them as much as I do?!

What’s In My Make-up Bag & A Giveaway!

Hey dolls. I hope you’re all enjoying the weather! I thought I’d do a what’s in my make-up bag blog post. I tend to basically keep stuff that’ll give me a pick-me-up throughout the day &/or things that are my favourites. I’m gonna get straight to it!

Candy Store Cosmetic Pouch RRP: £20 (currently on sale for £11!) available from HERE.

I have been using this make-up bag from Candy Store that I pop into my bag. It’s really fun, quirky & most important it’s SUPER BRIGHT! They come in a variety of different colours & because I love pink I had to get this one. It’s a smooth silicone bag which what drew me to it not to mention that it’s easy to clean. I do however feel really scared to put anything sharp/pointy inside just incase it rips… But other than that, I LOVE it! Here’s what I currently have in it…

Hoola bronzing powder by Benefit £23.50 available from HERE: My favourite contour powder. It’s always in my bag because it comes with its very own brush (which means one less thing for me to carry ;))

Head Over Heels cream blush by Topshop £6 available from HERE: its compact, with a great all year round colour that I can wear on my cheeks & lips!

Collection 2000 concealer £3.99 available from HERE: I like keeping this with me as it’s very thick so I can blend it into pretty much any area of my skin to look & feel refreshed!

YSL Touche Eclat #1 £25 available from HERE: Perfect as a highlighter. I have 2 of these which is why I always like keeping one on me at all times :)

YSL Long Lasting Waterproof Eye Pencil is £19 available from HERE: A waterproof eye liner is a must! I don’t go anywhere without a waterproof eye liner in my day bag! This YSL one is pretty darn amazing, so creamy!

Volume Million Lashes by L’Oreal £9.35 available from HERE: I tend to have this in my make-up bag regardless of what I’m using on a daily basis as it’s an all round really good mascara that I can’t go wrong with!

Magic Ink liquid eyeliner by Benefit £14.50 available from HERE: This is the only ‘wet look’ liquid eye liner that I like! I keep it in my bag for the same reasons as the mascara.

Strawberry Tube of Carmex £2.55 available from HERE: I have Carmex everywhere! My handbag, car, bedside table, vanity area & even in some random bags. It’s the only lip balm that works for me.

Pink Carmex Moisture Plus £4.50 available from HERE: I’ve been obsessed with this for over a year now! It’s my favourite tinted lip balm around :) You can read my full review HERE.

Overtime Pro Longwear Lipcreme by MAC £16.50 available from HERE: Over the recent few months, this has become one of my favourite pink lipsticks – this range has really grown on me & I love their creamy texture.

Blossom Culture Sheen Supreme by MAC £14.50 available from HERE: I got this a couple of months ago & it feels so lovely & light on my lips, pretty much like a tinted lip balm. I love pink & corals & this has become my favourite everyday coral lip sticks :)

The things in my bag aren’t necessarily things that I wear every day but I have a mixture of products that I love & products that I know I’ll need some days to perk me up! Sometimes it’s great for when I’m in a rush or for when I forget to put something like eye liner or mascara on. I also tend to have about 5 lipsticks in my bag, because I’m too lazy to take them out & for ‘just in case’ purposes!

Candy Store range £9 – £20 is available from HERE.

Here are the Candy Store bits that I own. They’re brilliant – I really am loving them recently. I can’t stress just how bright & amazing they are! My cousin showed me a great tip of how I can put a lipstick into the mirror. Have a look at the picture below ;)

YSL Glossy Stains.

I’m a HUGE fan of lipsticks! All colours, brands & finishes (although I do have some favourites!). I only have a selection of glosses that I go for when I don’t want to wear a lippy. You may, or may not, know that I’m a total YSL fan – I’ve loved pretty much everything I’ve got of theirs. I was recently sent these new gorgeous YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres* (aka as the YSL Glossy Stains). They are luxurious, as is the entire the YSL beauty range & as you can imagine the quality of them are second to none.

RRP: £22.50 available from HERE.

They are fairly expensive, considering their Touche Eclat foundation is £5.50 more(!) but you’re getting a good quality product for the price. (But still, I do wish they were around £13-£15!)

The lip gloss wand is a slanted ‘arrow-like’ shape which I feel that totally makes application easy. It’s quite bendy though when you put it on your lips – always makes me think it’s going to break but it seems to be fine :)

The formula is in between a gloss, a lip stain & a lip balm! It’s not sticky & has such a gorgeous LIGHT YET CREAMY finish to it. It feels like I have nothing on which is totally a bonus. It lasts me a fair few hours before I need to re-apply. I think #17 Encre Rose has to be my favourite out of the two. It’s a beautiful light blue-pink colour, totally summer worthy!

Overall, I’m very happy with these Glossy Stains. I would reccomend these to anyone who is out there for a good quality, ‘stick-free’ & hydrating lip gloss. But, ALSO if it was a colour they couldn’t find elsewhere (this is purely down to the price)! However, the YSL Glossy Stains, Revlon lip glosses & the Intense Lipgloss range by Illamasqua have become my ultimate favourites!

Have you tried YSL’s Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres (Glossy Stains) before? What are your thoughts?

Alternative to black…

Happy Sunday, dolls! I thought I’d share my favourite alternatives to black eye liner. I love playing up the colour of my eye liner, it’s a great way to play around with your look without having to apply any eye shadow & also brings your eyes out!

Golden Black Superliner Gel by L’Oreal RRP £6.99 available from HERE.
Smokey Diamond Glimmerstick RRP £6 by Avon (but always on offer) available from HERE.
Wasteland 24/7 Glide On Shadow Pencil RRP £14 available from HERE.

I’ve got to say that I’ve been wearing ‘Golden Black’ a heck of a lot recently & it’s a beautiful gold-bronze colour which looks great on the eyes! If you’d like to see a more in depth review of the L’Oreal gel liner click HERE.
